Hot Honey Popcorn
Share
Ingredients
- 10 cups plain popcorn (about ½ cup kernels)
- ¼ cup unsalted butter
- 3 tablespoons Mountain Ridge Hot Honey
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Pop your popcorn: Prepare popcorn using your preferred method and set aside in a large bowl.
- Make the hot honey glaze: In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine butter, Mountain Ridge Honey, brown sugar, and salt. Stir until melted and bubbly (about 3–4 minutes).
- Add baking soda and vanilla: Remove from heat and carefully stir in baking soda and vanilla. The mixture will bubble up — that’s normal!
- Coat the popcorn: Immediately pour the hot honey mixture over the popcorn, stirring to coat evenly.
- Bake for crunch (optional): For a crispier texture, spread popcorn on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake at 300°F for 10–15 minutes, stirring once halfway through.
- Cool and enjoy: Let cool completely before serving — if you can wait that long.
Tips
- For a milder flavor, reduce cayenne to ¼ teaspoon.
- Add a sprinkle of flaky salt or chili powder on top for extra kick.
- Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
