Hot Honey Popcorn

Hot Honey Popcorn

Ingredients
  • 10 cups plain popcorn (about ½ cup kernels)
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter
  • 3 tablespoons Mountain Ridge Hot Honey
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions
  1. Pop your popcorn: Prepare popcorn using your preferred method and set aside in a large bowl.
  2. Make the hot honey glaze: In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine butter, Mountain Ridge Honey, brown sugar, and salt. Stir until melted and bubbly (about 3–4 minutes).
  3. Add baking soda and vanilla: Remove from heat and carefully stir in baking soda and vanilla. The mixture will bubble up — that’s normal!
  4. Coat the popcorn: Immediately pour the hot honey mixture over the popcorn, stirring to coat evenly.
  5. Bake for crunch (optional): For a crispier texture, spread popcorn on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake at 300°F for 10–15 minutes, stirring once halfway through.
  6. Cool and enjoy: Let cool completely before serving — if you can wait that long.

Tips
  • For a milder flavor, reduce cayenne to ¼ teaspoon.
  • Add a sprinkle of flaky salt or chili powder on top for extra kick.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
